Mayan Adventure
We arrived at a Catholic Church just as mass was ending. The parade of flags was beautiful as the members exited the church. The Mayan children entertained us in the courtyard of the church where we ate lunch and enjoyed the festivities. There were fireworks, music and lots of smiles to go around. Bob really showed what he was made of, dancing with the young Mayan girl. Way to go Bob!

Caribbean Cruise 2008
December 2008
Bob & Midge Ebie, and Carl & I had planned this cruise for a year! The Ebie's are a long time farm family and also active members in the Farm Bureau. The Bureau sponsored this cruise and Bob asked Carl if we would be interested! Yes sir, we sure are! We have wanted to go on a cruise for a long time and figured that we would have a great time with Bob and Midge!
We took a bus from N Canton to Mobile, Alabama. (Did I mention that it took 18 hours and NONE of us would do that again! No room to move, couldn’t sleep, etc.) We actually had to stay awake to keep the driver awake! Scary!!

Evenings in camp

Thanksgiving 2008
Thanksgiving 2008
Here we are in the woods, which has been a long time tradition. Bob and Rose actually started this back in 1978 for Thanksgiving at Punderson Lake and now we have our traditional family Thanksgiving. Many of us spend the entire weekend primitive camping (outhouse included) and have a home cooked meal for family and friends on Saturday. Chef Bob cooks 2 or 3 turkeys over an open fire, while Rose, Kendra & I enjoy preparing the remainder of the meal, enjoying a beer or glass of wine while doing so. We do bring some "tools" to make camp more enjoyable!

Master Closet

Finally, the master bedroom is complete. We just look around in amazement! Only took just under 2 years to complete! The total project included the family room, dining room and old bedroom (which now is a hallway and walk in closet). We doubled out hanging space and I actually have my clothes in the master closet! First time in years! Chris & Aunt Jeanne won't have to live out of suit cases when they visit! Yeah!!!!
Dad love to help and came up with a great idea for connecting the shelves. He suggested we use a tool (name unknown) which you drill the pilot holes and then screw in.

June 2007

Finally getting under roof! We weathered a severe hail and rain storm before the frame was constructed. I had to jump into the basement and put up the downspout, which took water outside of the foundation. The guy that was putting foam into the block walls had to come to my rescue! I couldn't do it alone. After I got out of the basement and checked myself for injury later that evening, I found I had quite a few bruises on my back, arms and head from the large hail. OUCH!
June 2007 Finally under way!
Finally broke ground and started putting in the foundation. Changed the size of the master bedroom many times! Carl and I decided that this project was going to be sub contracted out! That's a first for us as we have built vertically everything ourselves over the years! Of course, we micro-managed everything! Had to be up to our standards!
A house divided!

This all started in June 2007. I wanted to share our "experience" with our family and friends. For those of you who know the layout of our home, we divided off the dining room from kitchen and family room. We actually had to go out the back breezeway door to get to the family room. We did that all winter! Burr! It sure got cold some days! Did I mention all the dust and dirt?
